The Meeraboo journey began in 2014, when Jess (pictured with with Danni) wanted to make candles for her friends for Christmas.
She roped Mum (Deb) into making the candles, who very quickly realised how much she loved it.
The Canowindra Christmas Night Market was on, so we decided to host our very first “hop up shop” where we sold out and a business was born.
Our first logo was designed by Jess, Danni and a graphic designer who Danni worked with at the time.
The rabbit sketch is based on a real photo of our rabbit, Willow, who sadly passed in 2020.
This logo featured prominently on our packaging, and the rabbit became a memorable Meeraboo feature, which was re-worked later down the track...more on that soon.
Where does the name come from?
Meeraboo is a made up word - and originated from our love of rabbits.
Our brother, Charley, came up with the word because our bunnies stand like MEErkats, are RABbits and would lay on the lawn like kangarOOs.
Other brand names tossed up at the time were Willow & Co (& co was beginning to trend in 2014), and Jessie Willows.
In 2020, we proudly trademarked the term MEERABOO in our industry.
