Candle Care

1. Burn your candle for a minimum of 2 hours

When lighting for the first time, you need to create the "burn memory," so burn for a minimum of 2 hours or until the wax melts across the entire surface of the jar. This may take longer than 2 hours.

Burning your candle for more than 2 hours also prevents tunnelling and creates and even burn.

If you forget, or your candle doesn't completely burn to the edge, don't worry!!! The jar will heat up on consecutive burns and eventually burn evenly.

2. Trim your wick. Every. Time!

Before each burn, trim wick to approx 5mm to promote an even burn, steady flame and limit mushrooming of the wick. This will also stop your vessel from turning black on the inside!!

If you don't trim your wick, it may bend over and drown itself (brutal) in the wax, causing an uneven burn. Trimming your wick can also save you money, as it prolongs the life of your candle - bonus!

3. Don't burn for longer than 4 hours

We are all guilty of it, leaving a candle to burn all day however, we highly recommend that you don't burn your candle for longer than 4 hours at one time.

Burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time will reduce the total burn time significantly, as the wax will melt faster as the jar becomes very hot. It's also dangerous and can damage the wick which may cause it to fall over, lift or result in an undesirable burn. It can also cause the candle to smell "burnt," and can make the inside of your vessel really black.

If you have to have a candle burning all day - we get it!! We recommend a candle "rotation" i.e when one has been going for 4 hours, snuff it and light another one of a similar scent.

This will prolong the lives of both of your candles, giving you hours more burn time and enjoyment <3.

4. Keep candle out of reach of pets & children

This one goes without saying, but it has to be said. Please don't leave your candles within reach of children and pets. Hot wax can cause burns, and an unruly flame can cause a lot of damage. Please burn your candle in a safe place for maximum enjoyment.
