After customers called for a fragrance that captured the feeling of an Australian summer Christmas, regional NSW home-fragrance brand Meeraboo listened. The resulting fragrance, Snow Gum, became the bestselling scent on the opening night of its Christmas Collection launch.
When Australian home-fragrance business Meeraboo asked its customers what they wanted from a new Christmas scent, the response was clear: something that felt unmistakably Australian.
Customers wanted eucalyptus, native greenery and the freshness of the Australian bush. They were searching for a fragrance suited to a warm summer Christmas, one that felt festive without relying on the rich, sweet and heavily spiced notes traditionally associated with the season.
Those requests became the inspiration behind Snow Gum, a refined blend of eucalyptus, blue sage, soft woods and pine.
When Snow Gum officially launched as part of Meeraboo’s 2026 Christmas Collection, it became the brand’s bestselling fragrance on the very first night of pre-orders. Without customers actually even smelling it first!!
Meeraboo founder Danni Maere said the immediate response was particularly meaningful because customers had played such an important role in the fragrance’s development.
“Snow Gum was truly inspired by our customers. We kept hearing that they wanted a Christmas fragrance that reflected the way we actually experience the season here in Australia, warm summer days, native greenery and the freshness of eucalyptus,”
“They wanted something festive, but not overly sweet or spicy. They also wanted a fragrance they could continue enjoying well beyond Christmas Day.”
For Meeraboo, the feedback highlighted a gap between the traditional picture of Christmas fragrance and the reality of celebrating the season in Australia.
While familiar festive scents such as gingerbread, orange, clove and fresh pine remain customer favourites, Snow Gum offers something different: a contemporary Australian interpretation of Christmas.
Crisp eucalyptus and blue sage create a fresh opening, while soft woods and pine give the fragrance a subtle festive warmth. The result is clean, calming and distinctly Australian, the scent of sun-warmed gum trees, native bushland and long summer days spent with family.
“We hoped Snow Gum would resonate, but seeing it become our bestseller on launch night was incredibly special,” Danni said.
“It felt like confirmation that our customers had been waiting for a fragrance like this. They helped shape the idea, and then they came back to support it the moment it launched.”
Founded at Danni's mother's kitchen table in 2014, Meeraboo has grown into an established Australian home-fragrance brand known for its hand-poured candles, luxury presentation and welcoming, easy-to-live-with fragrances.
The family-run business now operates from a solar-powered country workshop, where its products are created alongside the demands of raising the couple’s four children.
Despite the business’s growth, customer connection remains central to the way Meeraboo develops its collections.
“Our customers are incredibly engaged and generous with their feedback,” Danni said. “Listening to them helps us create products they genuinely want in their homes, not simply products we assume they will love.”

The collection is currently available for pre-order, with dispatch beginning in October 2026.
